Thanks to Terry Strolia, the Mid-America members once again met for their annual fall pilgrimage. This year we gathered at St. Terese's Shrine in Darion, IL. There we saw an abundance of St. Terese's artifacts, watched a video of her life and her simple acts of kindness and was led in mass by our new District Spiritual Advisor, Fr. Gus. The day ended with a delicious luncheon and closing prayer. Also, the Shrine is located on 50 acres of land and the weather was gorgeous, so a few of us took in some of the grounds. Near the pond stood the signs of the cross as well as, statues of both Mary and Jesus.
Thank you again to Terry, it was a beautiful day!

Car loads of K of L'ers ventured to Garwood Orchards in Northwest, Indiana. A horse drawn wagon led us to the orchards to pick up a few tasty, fall treats including apples, raspberries, pumpkins and veggies! And back at the market you could find homemade baked goods :) After we filled our bags we were off to Beverly Shores for a picnic at the beach. We gathered at picnic tables and somc of us went down to the sand to get a closer look at the monstrous waves (for Northwest, Indiana) and to build a sandcastle. The weather had held up for most of our outing, but unfortunately mid-way though lunch we were hit with quite the rain and wind... Although, thanks to the covered pavilions we were able to keep on grilling and enjoying the company.!
